Who Is Running America at the Abyss?

Ukraine, recently up-armed by NATO and America, has just successfully crossed the border into a stunned Russia—prompting a panicked Kremlin version of our DEFCON 2.

Rumors swirl that Iran plans to strike Israel sometime this week—with outside opportunistic bullies like Hezbollah and Turkey threatening also to intervene against the Jewish state.

U.S. naval and ground forces in the theater are purportedly readying themselves on orders from someone? to either be prepared to become further attacked or again to help protect the homeland of Israel.

And meanwhile in the U.S., President Joe Biden has hardly been seen or heard for weeks—other than a photo-op bicycling in Delaware, sunning on the beach, or trying to explain why he was removed from his party’s nomination. He apparently has at least obtained permission from his stealthy handlers for the time being to stay at his other job as President.

Vice President and now anointed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris equally avoids journalists, impromptu speaking, and news conferences‚ as she focuses on next week’s Democratic convention. But Harris is at least savvy enough not to say anything to anyone that is not teleprompted or scripted.

Harris also continues to act and talk as if she is not currently Vice President of the United States serving a debilitated president. But she does promise that she will reanimate in six months to fix things that went wrong under her current tenure when she believes she will become the President.

Tim Walz, Harris’s vice-presidential running mate, is still caught in his growing summer web of fantasies.

He avoids all questions about why for years he has lied about his rank in the National Guard, has lied about his avoidance of deployment in Iraq, and has lied about carrying a gun in war.

Seventy percent of Americans (presciently) poll ignorance of who Walz really is. But they are slowly learning that he let Minneapolis burn for three days in 2020, while his wife opened the widow to appreciate a whiff of arson, and while his daughter tipped off the violent Antifa and BLM rioters to be reassured her dad would not call out the Guard on them.

If in these scary times the President and Vice President are AWOL, and the Democratic nominees to replace them are hiding from the media, then who really is in charge in extremis?

Who, if anyone, will make existential decisions should a Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, or Turkey decide to start a wider war this week?

President Joe Biden—if only these wars break out during his one hour awake each day and at work?

The machinating Michelle and Barack Obama and their agents and appendages deeply embedded in the Biden administration?

The now hubristic and overweening bicoastal billionaire leftwing donor class, fresh on the heels of deposing Biden from their ticket?

Our only shred of reassurance is that our stunned enemies are probably as confused about who is in charge of America as we are.
