Perception is everything when launching a Presidential campaign. You only get one chance to do it.

A seamless glide down an escalator versus a glitchy Twitter space.

One was iconic. The other a cautionary tale about how not to announce your candidacy. The difference is authenticity.

There’s an element to showmanship that effective Presidents possess. 

The ability to captivate and inspire. Obama had it. So did Trump. DeSantis does not. Smart and capable as he is. 

He’s boring, socially awkward, and clearly uncomfortable being around people.
